MessageFit (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information collected through our mobile application (“MessageFit” or “the App”), available on iOS and Android.
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Accounts
Registering an account is optional. You can use MessageFit without registering one. Registering lets you keep your data if you lose or change your device, and sync it across your devices. When you register, we store your sign-in identifier and the email address associated with it.
You can delete your account at any time. Deleting it permanently removes your account and all data stored with it on our servers.
2. Data You Provide
You may optionally provide information such as:
- Age, gender, height, weight, and activity level
- Nutrition goals and preferences
- Your food diary and recently used foods
- Your weight log
- Messages you send in the AI chat
This data is used to calculate your recommended calorie and macro targets and to show you your history. It is stored on your device and securely on our servers, where it is linked only to an internal identifier and never to your name.
Your data is private. We do not access it, and no one else can see it. The one exception is if you explicitly report an AI chat message as inappropriate: in that case the reported message and the three preceding messages may be reviewed by our moderation team so we can adjust the AI model accordingly.
3. Search, Barcode, Voice, and Photo Input
When you use features like food search, barcode scanning, voice input, or photo scan:
- The search terms, barcode data, or photos are sent to our backend for processing.
- This input is not persisted — we do not log it or associate it with you or your device.
- For speech recognition, the standard system framework is used (iOS/Android).
4. Analytics and Diagnostics
We use third-party analytics and crash reporting services to understand how the App is used and to diagnose problems. These services may collect:
- Device information (e.g., model, OS version)
- Crash logs
- General app interaction data (e.g., screen views, session length)
This data is aggregated and is used solely to improve app performance and stability. It is not used to build a profile of you or to identify you personally.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties.
Data is shared only with the service providers that operate the App on our behalf — our hosting, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, and payment providers — and only to the extent needed to provide the features described above.
6. Data Security
Data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit. Data stored on our servers is access-controlled and linked only to your account identifier. We take appropriate measures to keep it secure.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Registering an account is optional, and all profile information you provide is optional.
- You can delete your AI chats at any time within the app. Once deleted, they are permanently removed from our servers.
- You can delete your account at any time, from Settings → Account & backup, or by request. This permanently removes your account and all data stored with it on our servers.
- Uninstalling the app removes the copy of your data held on your device.
8. Children’s Privacy
MessageFit is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect or process data from anyone under the age of 18.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app or on our official website, along with the effective date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any updates.
